The State Attacks Thee Church

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 6:00 PM Comments comments (0)

The recent mandate by the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services regarding health care of Catholics is an abomination.  The new socialist health care plan passed without one Republican vote. And now we see the results of this Marxist plot to attack the Catholic Church - to split the church in two, or divide and conquer.  The administration has basically ignored the US Bishops, in favor of listenting to an apostate nun in charge of a hospital.

This mandate violates the separation of Church and State. The far left radicals always pull out this separation of church and state (words which aren't in the Constitution) when they want to ban public prayer or manger scenes on public property, but seem to ignore it when the door swings the other way. It is the sincere hope of Catholicbible101 that the Supreme Court of the US will toss Obamacare into the Marxist trashbin where it belongs.  After all, the President once said that "if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it."  Well, not so much now if you're Catholic...

Beware the Occult

Posted on July 28, 2011 at 9:11 AM Comments comments (0)

Some people think that playing around with ouija boards and tarot cards and horoscopes is all harmless fun. But it isn't. God hates those things, because people who get involved with these things can be pulled into them, and then the person starts to place his trust in them, instead of HIM.

The movie "The Exorcist" was based on a true story of a young boy and his aunt, who taught him to contact the dead spirits through a ouija board. But they aren't dead spirits - they are demons masquerading as dead humans.   A Ouija board is a demonic gateway, as is all occultic practice. The Bible condemns these things over and over again, both in the Old Testament AND the New Testament. So if you are reading your daily horoscope, or consulting fortune tellers to gain hidden knowledge about the future or someone you know, go to confession and get rid of these practices, ASAP.

Once you do these occultic things, the demons have a right to attach themselves to you and your life, because you told God that you don't really trust in Him by doing these things.  Start saying your rosary EVERY day instead of consulting the "spirits" to gain arcane knowledge.  Mary is the terror of demons, and she will chase them away for you....

An excellent article on the dangers of playing around with the occult can be found HERE .

Revelation 21:8: But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, as for murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their lot shall be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death."

Wandering in the Secular Wasteland of the Modern World

Posted on July 26, 2011 at 9:26 AM Comments comments (1)

As we read about the Jews worshipping the golden calf as a god, and not trusting in God to water them, feed them, and to overcome the Canaanites in the Promised Land, we should try to apply this to our lives today, instead of just reading it as history. We all travel through a secular wasteland today, filled with false gods of money, illicit sex, drugs, abortion, pleasure, etc. And how many of us know and care more about these things than the Word of God in the Bible?  A LOT!  And how many of us put more trust in our 401K's or condoms or drugs than we do in Jesus Christ?  A LOT!  So try to personalize the story about the Jews and their resultant punishment from God. You will soon see that nothing has changed much in human nature!

1 Corinthians 10:1-14: I want you to know, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same supernatural food and all drank the same supernatural drink. For they drank from the supernatural Rock which followed them, and the Rock was Christ. Nevertheless with most of them God was not pleased; for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things are warnings for us, not to desire evil as they did. Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to dance." We must not indulge in immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day. We must not put the Lord to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents; nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer. Now these things happened to them as a warning, but they were written down for our instruction, upon whom the end of the ages has come. Therefore let any one who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Therefore, my beloved, shun the worship of idols.

YOU Are The Salt of The Earth!

Posted on July 19, 2011 at 9:17 AM Comments comments (0)
Today let us resolve to be the salt of the earth, like Jesus told us we were in Matthew 5:13:

"You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men."

What does this mean?  Salt adds flavor to ordinary tasting food, and it preserves food from spoiling as well. So when Jesus says that we are the salt of the earth, that means that we are to invigorate the ordinary humdrum life that everyone goes through with His gospel of

1. Loving God with all we've got, and
2. Loving our neighbor as ourselves.

This manifests itself through our words, through our smiles, through our actions, etc. And lest we forget, these things are not just for our family and friends, but for everyone, even those who stink, who are not well dressed, who we don't like, and who don't have a lot of money.  In so doing, we not only shake up the world with our flavorful seasoning of love, we preserve the life of Christ in the world. And with the world turning ever darker with its embrace of homosexuality, pornography, divorce, abortion, etc., that means that we will also shine brighter, because Jesus also said that we are the light of the world !

The History of Thee Catholic Church

Posted on July 18, 2011 at 7:54 PM Comments comments (0)

So what is the history of the Catholic Church? Some people think that Constantine, the emperor of Rome in 325 AD, made it all up as a way to perpetuate the Roman Empire.  But they would be wrong, and we have the writings from the first Century (besides the Bible) to prove it.

Dr. Michael Barber, a professor of Graduate Studies at John Paul the Great Catholic University, gives a 41 minute overview of the history of the Church that Jesus built on the rock, Peter, in Matthew 16:18.  Just click on the link below and you will know more about the history of the Catholic Church than 99% of the populace in the world!
