Please don't forget to say some prayers for the poor souls in Purgatory today. There may be people still there from the Civil War days, because there is no one to pray for them. People in Purgatory are indeed saved, but they are undergoing purification of their souls before they can enter the beatific vision of the pure and holy God in heaven. They can't pray for themselves, being the Church Suffering, but we, the Church Militant on earth, can pray for them. And the good part is that if we pray for them now, God will see to it that when our turn comes, someone will be praying for us as well. Please don't forget to do this daily, and ESPECIALLY if you happen to pass by a cemetery. Remember- We will all wind up there one day, and what goes around, comes around. Neglect them now, and you will be neglected. Pray for them now, and someone will pray for you when your turn comes. THANKS!
Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
Our Lord dictated the following prayer to St. Gertrude the Great to release 1,000 Souls from Purgatory each time it is said.
"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen."
