21st Century Catholic Apologetics for Mary's Spiritual Warriors

Spiritual Meditations

In order to overcome our enemies in this life, namely, the flesh, the devil, and the world - We have to meditate on the things of God.  Christian meditation is much different than the meditation of Eastern religions. Those sects empty the mind, thinking of nothing.  Then whatever pops in, good or bad, becomes their being. In Catholic meditation, we do not empty our minds, but rather, we meditate on the Passion, or the words of Sacred Scripture, or the writings of the Saints. Meditation, combined with the spiritual benefits of fasting, is one of the fastest ways to overcome our sinful human nature and to "put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation." (1 Thessalonians 5:8). One has to believe that Jesus Christ meditated a LOT while He was fasting in the desert for 40 days.  And so in the true imitation of Christ, we also are called to fasting and meditation.

Our very souls are at stake here.  After all is said and done, one day, we will either be in heaven forever, or in hell forever.  Today is the day, now is the time to start planning for your long range future.  If your body is dragging your soul to hell because of your love for the pleasures of this world, spiritual meditation and fasting will stop all of that, and the end result is that your soul will start to lift your body into heaven.  Of course, it goes without saying that the absolute best meditation on the spiritual mysteries of the New Testament is the rosary. A rosary a day will keep the devil away, and completely reorient your thinking and your worldview.  If you persevere in the rosary, you will go to heaven, even if you are a satanist today.  Your mother Mary will see to that.  Jesus Christ came into the world through Mary, and we can certainly do the same and go to Jesus Christ through Mary.  The Rosary has converted many a sinner into saints.  Start today to say the Rosary daily, and one day you will be in heaven with her forever.  Mary leads us to her son Jesus, who in turn, leads us to His Father (John 14:6).

Richard Challoner was an 18th century Catholic Bishop in England. His writings are very spiritual, and easy to understand by us common people.  His writings are listed here for your spiritual edification.  They are pdf files, so they may take a minute or two to download. But be patient, Bishop Challoner's writings are to your soul what sunlight is to plants - The enabler to grow strong and tall.
